    Hi,
Does anyone that know the following:

    I’m running Matrox RTx.100 with Prem 6.5.
I need to give some video clips and ppj (timeline) files to a guy running FCP.

Can I just give them to him and they’ll run?

Or do we need to get Automatic Duck or some other kind of file converter pgm. And if the former, exactly what model?

    Thanks

Probably not. Give the other editor an EDL and the source tapes and have him (her?) redigitize the media from the originals source tapes in an FCP native codec.

    Hi,
thanks for getting back to me. The problem is there are too many tapes. And the FCP user, to the best of my knowledge doesn’t own a VTR of any kind. Our tapes are, beta/sp, digi/beta,
MII, One Inch, 3/4, you name it, we’ve been doing this for a long time. (grin).

I’ll try a FCP dealer. They should know. And I’ll try Automatic duck.
But if anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.
    best regards

Automatic Duck will not convert your media. It will only make an XML that can be imported into FCP. The media will still need to be converted somehow, and it will have to be in a codec that FCP can understand.
