  adjustment layers

  Am I correct here? Adjustment layers in pre-comps affect layer in main comp below the precomp with the adjustment layer.
  If so, is there a work around?

  This is only true if you enable collapse transformations/continuously rasterize on the pre-comp in the main comp.
