  • What format do I export as from Final Cut Pro for burning to a Blu-Ray Disc?

I am using Final Cut 6 and I’m working with footage that was shot with a Panasonic HVX-200 in 1080i30. I would like to export the video out of Final Cut Pro in a format that will be ready for burning to a Blu-Ray Disc. What is the proper format and or settings that I have to export the HD video out as for it to be ready for burning to a Blu Ray Disc? I’m assuming that the person I am working for is going to take it to someone that has a Blu-Ray burner being that we do not have one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Export QT Movie, Import file into Compressor and create an MPEG 2 or h.264 file for Blu-Ray.

There are lots of workflows online. Google it.

Upgrade to FCP 7 and FCP will do the work for you.

FYI, FCP does not export a format that will be Blu-Ray ready.
