  Log & Capture Will Not Open

  Hi,

  When I go under File and select Log and Capture (or hit Command 8) FCP acts like it’s about to open it, but then doesn’t. If I try it again, it either does the same thing or it gives me the ERRRR sound and freezes up on me to the point where I have to hard reboot the computer in order to close out of FCP.

  I read that I should attempt to trash my preferences, but when I go into Library > Preferences, there is NO preference file for Final Cut Pro. Nothing there says com.apple.Finalcutpro.plist whatever.

  What is going on?

  Make sure you are looking under the Home computer file>Library>Preferences and not User>Library>Preferences.

  Once you locate it then trash it and try again. … Did you try to locate it in Spotlight?

  A better way to trash prefs is to download Digital Rebellions Preference manager software.
