    Hi there,

Ok, so I’m trying to import files from a P2 card that are located on an external hard drive. I do not have the camera or the cards anymore, as the footage was shot by my boss over a year ago on a camera he rented. All the files were copied to this external hard drive. I wasn’t around when that happened, but I’m pretty sure all the correct files and folders were copied over. When I try to import the files into Final Cut, I get an error message saying that I need a translation document. I did a whole bunch of research on the net and have concluded that I need to get P2 Log Pro.

Sounds pretty straight forward, but here’s the thing: I’m stuck using a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 tower, running 10.4.11 and Final Cut Pro HD 4.5. The system requirements for P2 Log Pro are an Intel machine running at least OS 10.6. Is there any way that I can load this footage into FCP? Or do I have to just find another machine to work on?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    thanks so much
