  Losing Render FIles and Supporting Edits with Autosave Project

  Been putting up with this for a while now and figured it’s probably about time to get down to the bottom of it….

  I’m using FCP 6.0.6

  My autosave is set to my local hard drive, but all of my media, supporting edits and render files live on our Apple XSan RAID.

  When working with projects I pull them off our RAID, drag them to the desktop and then open from there.

  When FCP crashes on me (and I haven’t saved recently) I go back to the autosave folder to retrieve the latest autosave project. However, when I open this project all of the supporting edits and render files are missing and when I relink them they require rerenders.

  Any ideas why this might happen? Does this have something to do with the xsan/xserve?
