    Hello

I’m editing a short movie shoted in 4K with the RED one.

I imported a 2K QT reference movie, the codec of my sequence is prores 4444 and everything works fine… but… there are alway a but 🙂

The movie is in 25fps… and I have only one shot in 3K/50fps… It’s a slow motion shot.

When I play this shot, he’s accelerated.

How can I play it into my sequence in 25fps ?

If someone have an answer, I will appreciate a lot .

    Thanks

    Jeremy

Ps… Sorry if my english is not correct… i’m french.

    Thanks Thanks Thanks

After converting the 3K red to 2k ProRes4444, open this file in Compressor and use frame controls to create a new quicktime changing the speed to play at 25 fps.

Use the same codec (ProRes4444). This new file will play as a slo mo.

    Thanks a lot Michael 😉

    I will do it !

but your answer suggest me an another question…

After the editing, the movie will send to Color and conform in 4k.
(I used the 2K QT reference movie so I thing I can reconnect the sequence to the native R3D)

is it possible to have a finish sequence in 4k with a 2k shot (the slow mo) ?

Or all the sequence will be in 2K ?

    Thanks Thanks Thanks

But you want these pictures in slow-mow, don’t you?
if so, Conform the p50 clip to p25 on CinemaTools. Then resize in Compressor.
If you want the picture to play at normal speed in the p25 sequence. fallow Michael advise or simply drop the footage in the p25 sequence. If you do it in Compressor, make the Time-base change “Lineal”. Compressor simply will drop one every two frames. This is what you need.

[jeremy Pitard] “Or all the sequence will be in 2K ? “
That will depends of your sequence size.

    Hello

I will test all your propositions tomorow… (cinema tools and compressor).

My producer said to me he want finish the movie in 2k after a 4k colour calibration by color… so I don’t have sequence problem anymore between 4k and 3k slow mo 🙂

I thank you a lot for your precious advises. I love this website 🙂

    Ps… when I drop the 50i footage in the p25 sequence… it doesn’t work… I don’t know why… but It doesn’t work. May be a bug !!!

Ps2… could you tell me if my english is correct or difficult to understand ? Thanks

    Thanks Thanks Thanks
