Subtitles size for big screen
Dear friends,
I’m about to start to put the subtitles to a short that will be printed to 35mm.
Would you set the subtitles with similar size than for broadcast or DVD?
Sure no bigger, but, smaller?
i don’t watch a movie with subtitles in a cinema since many years and I’ve lost any refference.

That’s got to be somewhat a matter of aesthetics. What’s more important? The action or the words?

Hi Rafael, I think your best bet is to check with the lab doing the film ouput. It may also be you\’ll get better looking subtitles if the film lab does them during the DI phase.

There is very little action is mostly conversations.
Is important that the people can fallow the words.
I don’t want to put subtitles that in a big screen could look ridiculously big.

Is the first time I do something for film and I had no idea about that possibility.
I guess they can get get something well done.
Right now I’m struggling with the final scroll credits. What I get is really flickering.
