audio-video synching issues
I shot a short film on super16 film and recorded sound, obviously, on another piece of equipment. As such, I now have my audio in .wav files on my hard drive my video (1.3 hours) processed and then tele’d into ProRes 422 HQ 1080 p/psf also on my hard drive.
Now to the question – I have broken the large video files up into sub clips for ease of editing. Given that I have multiple takes of everything I’d like to synch sound to them individually so that I can get it so that they are all linked to their respective audio files and then I can move them around as I please without sound synching required each time they enter the timeline. Each time I link them (my method has been by lining them up with the slate and command-L) they move together in the timeline as they should. However when I remove the clip from the timeline and then attempt to bring it back in it comes in without the linked audio file. Is there a way to link audio and video so that they are permanently linked throughout the editing process, whether or not they are currently in the timeline? command-L seems to work initially, but each time it loses its link when it is removed from the timeline. Is there something more permanent? Please say there is…
Thanks so much for your help. Happy Turkey.
