    Hi,
About 2 months ago I exported a bunch of still frames out of Final Cut 6.05 to my desktop in the correct aspect ratio (16×9.)

Now, for the life of me, I can’t seem to export a still without getting that “squished” look.

I know I did not use Photoshop or any other conversion, I exported frames directly to my desktop and when I open them now in Preview they look perfect.

Any suggestion on how I might have done this?? For the life of me, I cannot remember nor can I figure it out!
    Thank you,
    Jenny

    Hi Jenny,
And if you open them in Photoshop and set “Correct for Aspect Ratio”, how do they look?

    Jenny,

Any still export from a squeezed anamorphic format will export squeezed and anamorphic from QT Conversion. Only full raster 16×9 video will export non-anamorphic.

The only way I know how to do this without the aspect ratio issue is to pull a screen capture of just your canvas window….

Turn off “Overlays” – use shift+command+4 and then highlight your canvas window.

should post a snapshot to your desktop
