  dvd to fcp

  A client has given me DVD research and wants to edit the material. (not very good looking to begin with)
  What is the best way for me to get the best quality when converting a DVD to a format for FCP?
  What is the best I can expect from it. Go to the QT and do DV/DVCPro5o. Does prores422 help? What the opinion? thanks jack

  Get MPEG STREAMCLIP (https://www.squared5.com) and rip it to DV/ntsc or DV50. Heck, yeah, if ProRes is available use that (ProRes SD). You won’t improve the quality at all, in fact it will go down a little as you are transcoding, but you can push things more on color correction and rendering filters on the higher end formats.
