  ac3 data rate problems

  Hello all

  I am using FCP7 and Compressor to export a ac3 file and an mpeg which I later mux with the help of MPEG Streamclip. The file will play back in a MV720p-HD player.

  I am having problem with setting the datarate at 128kbps. The lowest preference setting in MPEG Streamclip seems to be 192 kbps.

  Is there a way around this?

  My Sequence is set to:
  Audio: 48k, 24bit

  My audio compressor settings are:
  File Format: Dolby Digital Professional
  Target System: Generic ac3
  Audio Encoding Mode: 2 (L,R)
  Sample Rate: 48k
  Data Rate: 128 kbps

  Any advice is much appreciated.

  What is the reason not to use 192? Dolby sounds very ordinary at low data rates so I would advise using mpeg VBR audio if you want a small file that sounds Ok.
