  Image changing color upon import, SOS!

  I posted this a few days ago and got some replies but all my helpers have sadly disappeared and this is the one last issue to fix before I complete a project if anyone has any clues! Much much appreciated!

  Previous post –
  I have a red/orange/black logo on a white background that upon import into FCP, turns purple/red/black on a blue background, and I’m not sure why? I’d just like it to stay the original colors.

  If it is CMYK and should be RGB, is that something I can change in PS? I have a little bit of PS knowledge and could probably manage that if necessary —

  April,
  What type of file are you trying to use? The examples posted are jpegs which should be fine if that’s what went to FCP.
  Definitely don’t want it to be a CMYK. Go into Photoshop and open your logo. Then go to Image, Mode and change to RGB and save.

  I imported them as JPEGs, and they changed colors. So I just tried importing them as PNGs and it worked. Thanks!

  Sorry, I meant I tried JPEGs, those changed colors, so then I tried TIFFs and those remained the initial colors, so I used those.

  yeah just make sure to monitor that on a broadcast monitor. That red/yellow high saturation color combo tends to bleed excessively. Looks fine on the computer monitor but broadcast is another story.
