  Color Correct Historgram like AE

  Hello,

  I’ve worked a lot in Photoshop and AfterEffects over the years and LOVE the histogram display (with RGB, R, G, B) when adjusting levels. However, I don’t know if I can get levels to display the same way in FCP. Is this possible?

  Tools menu-video scopes.
  Select Histogram from the Layout menu drop down list.

  Thanks for the response Scott.
  I don’t think I was specific enough with my question. If I have a clip and want to adjust the contrast and color, I’m going to
  effect>video filters>image control>LEVELS
  What I get is some sliders that affect, Input, Input tolerance, gamma, output, output tolerance. In AfterEffects, you get a histogram with sliders, which I prefer. I know I can export to AE and reimport, but I was hoping that I could get a histogram in the levels correction in FCP.
  Does that make sense?

  I’m not familiar with AE, but instead of the Levels filter, have you looked at the 3-way Color Corrector filter? And don’t forget to use the disclosure triangle at the bottom, which will reveal functions to isolate the Color Correction (think Pleasantville). There is a lot of power in the 3WCC, compared to the Levels filter. This might be more of what your are looking for.
  Also you could use the Color application if you need more finesse than you can get from the 3WCC.
  Perhaps some of the big guns with AE experience will chip in here.
