Video Freezes After Exporting
Here’s what I’ve got:
I’ve got a clip around an hour long that I want to move to DVD. It plays fine in Final Cut, and all seems well. When I export it, however, it plays for about 20 minutes, then freezes on the current frame while the audio continues uninterrupted.
I’ve exported it three times, now, and the problem is consistent. If I’m watching it in QuickTime or a similar program, and I jump past the problem spot, the picture freezes on whatever the last frame I viewed was. This tells me it’s not writing the same frame over and over — it’s actually freezing.
The audio is never affected.
There doesn’t appear to be anything around the 20 minute mark that is in any way different or special — and Final Cut still play back the whole thing without error.
Right now, I’m trying to export it as a self-contained file to see if that helps, but that promises to take another 4 or more hours, so I’m just twiddling my thumbs for now and looking to see if I can avoid this problem in the future.
Final Cut Studio (1)
2 GHz dual core iMacFootage is nearly one hour long.
HDV format.
All sequence settings, etc, match the standard Easy Setup profile for HDV.
Other clips still work fine, and they’ve worked fine since I got the HDV camera 10 or 12 months ago.Saving to internal hard drive. All external hard drives are properly formatted to NTFS.
Thanks for your help.
