  • Multicam question: any way to play two clips source audio at the same time?

I’m editing a multicam show that’s SD with 4 cams. The final mixed audio is 4 channels and wasn’t sent to any camera, it was synced after the fact in FCP 7 using pluraleyes to the other 4 angles for each take. Now I want to setup multiclips to use for each take (each take is 15 minutes long etc – but there’s tons of takes and many episodes so I can’t just lay my final audio under a multiclip because there’s too much footage to be sorting through). Since you can’t have an audio only angle in a multiclip, I have to export my final audio linked to one of the video angles (non self contained export file to save room obviously) and then pull this back in and then make my multiclip. The problem is, I can only link up to 2 channels of my 4 channel final mix to each cam angle so I end up having to export and re-import two cam angles from the show (lets say cam A and B) to make a multiclip that contains all the final audio. Now when I’m editing my multiclip, I want to have all the audio playing from camera A and B at the same time and be laying down these 4 channels when I edit the multiclip and only be switching the video. Is this possible?
