Adding logos to credits (Boris?)
Posted by Anna Heuss on November 1, 2009 at 9:38 pmHi everyone,
Is there an easy way to add logos (mostly jpgs) to rolling credits in Final Cut, perhaps using Boris or something? I’ve tried adding an image in the Boris title tool but it doesn’t appear to be able to read jpg files and I can’t find any information about what formats it supports. Perhaps it doens’t even work that way at all?
It would be fantastic if someone could help me out..

November 1, 2009 at 9:44 pmIf I were you Anna, I’d create the credits and add a graphic as an overlay afterward. You can either try to match the speed manually, which shouldn’t be too terribly difficult, or use an app with motion tracking, such as Motion, After Effects, Shake, or Combustion.

November 3, 2009 at 2:07 pmThanks for the great tip! I’ve now used Alex’s 4D move plugin for the logos and his end credits plugin to create the credits themselves.
The plugins allow you to move the scrolling text at a certain speed (eg 50pixels per second), which is great.
however, I now have the problem that they dont scroll smoothly if i speed them up to 120 pixels per second (which I have to do because the credits have to be a certain length).
What could the reason be? My project was filmed on DVCPro HD, 25fps and 1920×1080. Im using the Apple ProRes (HQ) codec. Is there a filter I could use or something?
Thanks for your help!
