  DVCPro HD 1080p30 (29.97p)

  Having a capturing issue here, wonder if anyone out there can help?

  I have tapes from the HDX900 shot in 1080p30 (29.97p this terminology from pany manual).

  Capturing over firewire with the AJ 1400 deck. Used the FCP DVCProHD 1080p30 easy setup. Captured clip came in as 1080i60. Edited clip into 1080p30 seq. FCP asked to change seq. setting, we allowed it, sequence changed to 1080i60.

  I had thought that 30p is really 60i with same data on both fields, so the clip info of 1080i60 didn’t strike me as odd. But there is a separate 1080p30 compressor inside FCP.

  Question is, if it is indeed a separate setting, how do we get the 1400 deck to spit out 30p (29.97) via FW to FCP?
