  getting footage to final cut pro

  I’m trying to get footage from a sony digital 8 handy cam to final cut pro vers 6.0.6. The main problem is that when I plug the camera into my macbook pro, the camera doesn’t even come up. Any help or advice? Thanks,

  I’m using a 4 pin fire wire from the camera to 6 pin into the computer

  Now I’m having trouble getting timecode. Any help is greatly appreciated.
