Best settings to make a DVD
I have a full feature (91 minutes) in HD 1080i that I would like to burn onto a double-layered DVD. What do you think would be the best settings (what do i render it into, what methods would i use) if I wanted to get the best quality image when playing the DVD?
Some advice would be greatly appreciated and you’d really be pulling me out of a tight spot.

that’s true, but I have no choice, an SD DVD is required and I’ve got to lessen the quality substantially, what I’d like to know is the best way to do it. What would be the best compression method that would allow me to not lose too much quality? What are some tips to go about doing this and how can I do it from Final Cut Pro?

in fact, how is it possible that a much larger film (e.g. Lord of the Rings) or any other Hollywood production could fit onto a regular DVD and be sold at retail? Do they have special systems and if so, who can I hire to do such a thing if it is not possible for me to do it myself?
