    Aloha-

Just installed the new AE CS3(8.0.0.298) and it will not play nice with Photoshop CS3(10.0).

I have a multi-layer photoshop doc. I try to import a specific layer. In layer options, I choose the layer I want, but the wrong layer is imported. Anyone else seen this or know of a workaround or patch?

I’ve had this same problem on a number of occasions. May I ask, are you creating your documents fresh in Photoshop CS3 and in AE CS3 or are you updating old 7.0/6.5/CS2/CS documents?

I think it has something to do with groups/folders in the layer structure and CS3 handling things differently. I haven’t run enough tests to be sure, in the meantime the workaround I’ve been using is counting up from the layer I want x number of times. It seems to be fairly consistent with the offset of the layer.

    Dave-
Right after I posted, I figured out the workaround of importing the .psd as a comp.

    Darby-

It IS a project upgraded from AE7, but the .psd was created in the same version of Photoshop CS3.
After seeing your post, I tried it on a new project and new psd, and the same thing happens.

It does seem to be something to do with the layer group, because I often just get a layer called “layer group/source.psd.”

This is a bad BUG. I will fill out the form on their website and hope for the best…
