not your ususal sync problem
any help would be great. my friend and i have been struggling w this problem for the past two weeks
shot a film on super 16. telecined at 23.98 and brought into fcp. we dubbed all the tracks using pro tools. they were in sync. imported these files.
now sending files across the ocean and across internet to each other as we edit project. have some sync issues with the files. discrepancies in fps and sample rate. hellish
but screw all that. we go back to original proj – his files are all still in sync. so he sends me them. some are out of sync on mine. same proj file, SAME exact files, same seq settings, same proj settings….but they are out of sync. i mess around w resampling the screwed up files in stp – until their durations match his – and then they are in sync.. i send him back the proj, to see if he can reconnect w sync (but using his original audio files though to relink the audio that i resampled). no sync. so ok- i send him the audio files i resampled. worked for me. should work him. no sync
i know all the files are the right ones, cause we have ruthlessly checked over all the connections a hundred times. is their something outside of the basic FCP settings and basic STP settings (we have verified sample rates, fps, etc.) that could be causing this problem
i mean if we have the exact same files. why arent we synced. we each havea synced proj – that cant be transferred to one another and maintain sync
cannot just media manage the entire project because we live overseas.

Are you sending projects or XMLs?
