  • HV20 FCP 6 HELP: “General Error” message and no captured footage

    Hello.
I’ve been slogging through forums but haven’t found a similar problem.

Recently I have tried importing HDV footage from my Canon HV20 into Final Cut 6. I can log clips as normal (using Easy Setup HDV 1080160), and during capture it will play through, tell me it’s capturing the footage as usual, and divide up clips on the starts and stops just fine and dandy.

But when it gets to the end of the capture it gives me a “General Error” message and no footage is actually captured. What in the world could this mean?

Thanks for any help! It has gotten far too tedious capturing all this in iMovie.
