  • CS3 Render Engine on Intel Plug-In Issue

Posted by Bill Wier on July 25, 2007 at 5:02 pm

    – Mac OS X on Intel CPU’s, AE CS3 Render Engine using Rosetta at launch does not see 3rd party non-universal binary plug-ins. Though you can check the box in ‘Get Info’, AE Render Engine does not appear to actually use Rosetta, and so most plug-ins do not render.

    Anybody have a fix?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Not answered there, just given an expensive workaround.
This is a bug acknowledged by Adobe, and is a BIG PROBLEM for those who have many non-UB plug-ins such as this joint. We have around 25 plug-ins, and only five or so work with CS3 on Intel, so this problem is a show stopper until this Rosetta thing can get resolved.
