    Hi,

I have a question regarding the 3:2 – 4:3 aspect ratios. I log and capture my videos and they default to the 3:2 aspect ratio. When I render my videos for TV or web they are at the appropriate 4:3 ratio, but the text is squashed to the new aspect ratio.

How do I over come this? FCP won’t let me log and capture my video at 4:3 if it is DV. And when I change my sequence settings to 4:3 after logging and capturing, the video needs to be rendered in order to be previewed in editing — which is a huge hassle if the video is long.

Please, please, please, help me. This is my second attempt.

I see, but how do I keep my text from being squashed in FCP?

As Dave points, in SD NTSC you have 720×480 and 720×486 frames.
The first is 3/2, the second is not.

With which size and kind of pixels do you export?
