WIDEscreen in FCP
Okay, i want to know how to UPLOAD my widescreen footage into my FCP via WIDESCREEN setting. I can’t get the damn thing to get away from fullscreen.
Any help.
also, i’ve been using the ANAMORPHIC setting, and have 118 videos that right now are popping up in fullscreen in my widescreen setting. I’d rather NOT waist another full day reimporting the footage.

First, describe what you’re doing. How you’re monitoring sequence settings, etc.
With anamorphic SD footage, check the anamorphic setting on import/digitize. That will simply flag the clip as anamorphic in the bin column “anamorphic”. If it didn’t do so, simply open the bin, highlight the unflagged anamorphic clips, and place a check in the anamorphic column. There is no need to ever reimported. The qt files are identical in either case.
The flag ensures that FCP applies the correct distort property when dragged into a particular sequence.

okay, shot a movie on my HDV camera. It shoots in widescreen.
my question is, when i Capture it onto FINAL CUT PRO using my non-controbable device, (an analog to digital converter that use the red yellow and white connectors) how do i get it to capture in widescreen not fullscreen. I know about the panoramic setting, but its not TRUE widescreen, its just fullscreen stretched out to widescreen. -

Why not capture it via firewire?
Im betting the problem is the digital converter box.
