    Hello Everyone!

I would be really, really grateful if someone could shed some light on my situation. So, the story starts in Chicago. My boss shoots some HD video on P2. He then transfer the media from the P2 card onto a Windows laptop, and then from the Windows Laptop to a Seagate Free Agent Go drive formatted FAT32. He then puts the drive in the mail and sends it to us. When we receive the drives, we log and transfer in FCP 6.0.6 through our Macintosh G5 PowerPCs running MacOSX 10.4.11 to a Lacie 1TB external hard drives. With some of the projects, we have had issues with the media on the LaCie drive becoming unusable. Therefore, we deleted that clip, thinking it was most likely corrupt, and tried to re log and transfer it from the Seagate drive. However, when we have tried to do this, the clips from the Seagate all show up fine in the log and transfer window, but when I try to import them in, it say “Data Not Found”.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Thanks so much in advance!

Not exactly sure this is the answer to your problem. I know I was getting the same warning from a permissions problem. I’m guessing there is a probable chance permissions could get funky going from Windows to mac.

Our solution was to take the roll folder “A1” and create a new folder “A1b” and copy the contents and lastclip.txt file into it. it was then ok.

    Hope this helps.

Did you delete them from the log and transfer window? If so, that deletes the media from the mxf structure. You should eject it instead using the eject button at the top left of the L&T window

    Hi Guys!

Thanks so much for your responses!

I have not deleted the clip from the log and transfer window. However, I think I may have figured out why it is becoming corrupt. Because the original media drive in partitioned for FAT32, known for its corruption during transfer of big files, I think I may have to try and figure out a way of copying the filesf from the FAT32 drive, to a drive only formatted for Mac, and then importing them…

Let me know if this makes sense to anybody, or if I am just getting myself into more troupble 🙂

Once again, thanks for your fast responses!
