  My lower-third is pixilated after export

  Hey all,

  I’m pretty new to FCP and am trying to apply a lower third graphic from AE in FCP, but when I export and view it in Quicktime, the graphic gets pixilated and the doesn’t look half as good as it does in the FCP viewer.

  I’m exporting in 3:4 format and am wondering if the low resolution is having something to do with it. When I tried to export it in a larger HD format, the graphic looked okay, but of course the video was stretched.

  Any advice?

  The movie is an mp4, 640×480. I’m exporting from AE in the same format, 640×480 as a quicktime animation which I import into FCP with an alpha layer. The intro and extro animation that I did, with the same format but now alpha, worked fine and are as crisp as can be…

  mp4 could likely be your problem. Try transcoding to another format (animation maybe?).
