  Need sequence timecode to overwrite original on export

  I have reset the start timecode of a PAL DV sequence to 01:00:00:00 and trimmed off the front 25 seconds off a 30 min DV clip so it now has a new start frame at 01:00:00:00.

  I cut a new clip of 1 min duration and dropped it back into a bin and exported as QT.

  When I export the 1 min clip it still retains the timecode of the original media 00:00:25:18. Is there a straightforward way to rewrite / create new timecode for the exported clips based on its position in the sequence timecode rather than keeping its original?

  Open the clip in FCP
  Choose modify->timecode and set it to your liking.
  This will alter the file.

  I believe if you nest the sequence, it will also read the TC as being generated by the sequence, and not your source clips.

  You could also export whatever you’re trying to export from the sequence. Set IN and OUT points around what you need to export and when you bring it back in it will have the TC from where it was exported from in the timeline.
