View timeline timecode on external monitor?
I seem to be posting a lot lately, but this one has been bugging me for awhile…
Is there any way to output timecode in vision to an external monitor from final cut? I don’t want to apply the timecode reader filter to every clip for obvious reasons, but it’d be nice to see it all clear for me to make notes whilst watching things back in the online.
If any one has any ideas it’d be much appreciated!

Negative. There is no timecode until you apply a filter to recover it and create the pixels that show it.
There’s a new gigantic t/c viewer HUD but it doesn’t go external.bogiesan

Do you want to display the source timecode of each clip, or the timeline timecode? If you want to do the later, just add an empty text slug to the whole timeline on the highest track and throw a timecode generator on it. Should play in real-time.

If you can deal with a large, moveable t/c display on your computer monitor, Digital Heaven’s Big Time or I believe FCP7 has this capability.
