I want to do a 1st person shot from a drunk person. I’m gonna film it shaky and use a fish eye. How can I make it look better in FC. Maybe some blur, some double vision. Would even be nice if the shot transitioned back and forth between more drunk and less drunk (more blur less blur).

Also, does anyone have any links to a tutorial on shooting in the first person (POV). Never done this before. Thanks!

Try a the echo effect (under the “video” effects tab) and slow it down a bit.

I don’t usually shoot 1st person POV shots with an ultra-wide lens. To get a realistic POV try 35-50 mm, to approximate the human field of view.
Once you get down into the 20’s or lower, the field of view doesn’t look quite right. But hey, for drunk-vision that may work.
There is also a ‘fish-eye’ filter in FC that might work better than using a fish-eye lens, since you can key-frame the filter and dial in the amount of distortion you want, when you want it.

They did this for a party scene in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. they used a warper to make the image swim.

The simplest thing may be to stack two to three identical video tracks, reduce the opacity on all but one, and deliberately throw it/them each a few frames to a second out of synch with the main clip.I would export that into its own clip, then apply further warping to that clip.

Thanks guys. And how about for audio. Something to give it a bit of an echo or dream like sound? Thanks for your responses!

CHV makes a plugin called “on drugs” that might do what you’re looking for …

For the sound, you might want to start by applying the AUPitch filter and slightly ramp the pitch up and down or actually ramp the speed up and down or both, add a little reverb and you should be off to a good start.

Maybe I should do some real world research after work.
