  memory for harpertown 8 core?

  Just bought a refurb 3.2ghz harpertown 8 core. Will be running FCP 7. Looking to purchase memory. Anyone know how much do I need, and what pairing?

  The Harpertown macs ram configuration is optimal when all 8 dimms are filled.

  A 16Gb kit from transintl is $392 U.S.

  Of course FCP7 will only use 4Gb due to 32bit RAM limitations, so I guess you have to throw that in your considerations. It doesn’t look likely there will be a 64bit version of FCS for another 2 years, if ever…
