  • XDCAM rendered in AE produces dropped frames

    Hi,

I am cutting a show in XDCAM 1080i 35Mb VBR codec. Everything looks great from the the show camera masters. I rendered some graphics in After Effects with the same codec settings. When I play these graphics, I get dropped frames after about 4-5 secs on any of the rendered clips.

My system uses a Fusion SATA RAID 0 with about 200MB read/write. 8 Core Mac. No other HD codecs have given me this problem. I am suspecting it may be AE, because if I render to Pro Res 422 and then let FCPro render the clips in the XDCAM sequence, they play fine.

    Dave

Is your AFX timebase correctly matched to your FCP timebase? What are they?
