AVCDH Conversation for FCP Use
Any advice on converting AVCDH for editing in FCP 6? I recently bought a Sony HDR-XR105 and have tried using Wondershare Video Converter but the quality isn’t quite there. Any thoughts on what software to use.

Hi Jeremy,
Hmmm believe it or not that’s the first thing I tried, this is in FCP6, when I tried to connect via log and transfer a message came up saying that it did not support AVCHD. Hence I’ve been trying to convert it.
Any other thoughts

I don’t have an intel mac it’s a power pc. I guess that would be the reason the log and transfer tool won’t work.

Toast 10 transcodes very well AVCHD files to any Quicktime codec you’ve got installed. It’s one of the fastest as well. And includes a video player that plays the AVCHD files from my Lumix GH1 flawlessly without transcoding for quick previewing.
