Exporting from FCP to Flash
Hi guys,
I have Adobe Flash CS4 and Adobe Media Encoder CS4 along with the new Final Cut Studio.
What I am trying to do is export either directly to Flash encoder or export using Quicktime Conversion as an flv file type (like flip4mac wmv).
I looked in my library folder under quicktime and I do not seem to have any flv.components installed.
Do you know how to get the component, install the component, find the component or export from FCP encding as a Flash file??? Is there a program I am lacking to do this?
Any help on this would be most appreciated.

We export a QT reference movie from FCP.
Then we take that to either Flash for encoding or Telestream’s Episode Pro.
You get many more options working this way rather than trying to do everything in FCP.

Understood, can you do the same for batch encodes?
For some reason when I try this as a batch, it takes my 4×3 video and squishes it to 16×9.
Is that because it’s not a ref movie?

We do batch encodes through Episode Pro with no issues.

Hi Richard,
If you export from FCP/Compressor as an h.264 mov you can simply change the extension of the encoded file to .flv – this will allow the file to be opened using any kind of Flash player.
This is what I tend to do for web videos as exporting using Compressor is much faster than Adobe Media Encoder when you have QMaster set up.
