Apple Final Cut Pro 5.1.4-Color Correction
Dear Forum,
I wish to color correct scenes within a sequence on the Timeline. The sequence is of a trailer from a movie which I am DOP and has been imported from a DVD via Cinematize PRO. I have looked at ‘Key Framing – Color Correction by Richard Harrington and did follow his clearly delivered demo. However, when I applied the principle the system delivered corrections but you could see the changes taking place.
Previously, I had placed a Keyframe at the start of a shot, made adjustments then moved to the end of that shot placing another keyframe (as if bracketing the color correction) By clicking to move one frame forward to the beginning of the next shot entering a Keyframe making color corrections moving to the end inserting closing Keyframe, and so forth and so on…. the results were not good! The last frame of any shot would not carry the color correction but change to something either with wrong luminance values or color etc not corrected?Whilst Color Correction has been demonstrated eg by Richard Harrington within a single shot and in a sense my trailer is a single shot, albeit made up of a variety of shots/images… what is it that I’m not doing to make the system work? Please explain?
I have not attempted to cut into the sequence to lift the shots that need color correcting. If this is what is needed could you also explain a method to accomplish this then reassemble to finished sequence.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Michael Elphick
