  FCP Keboard shortcuts not working properly?

  Good morning
  Quick question for you.

  The shortcuts on one of our work Mac Pros running FCP 2.0 have gone wrong.

  I have tried loading default shortcuts, customised ones and rebooting but the same things still happen.

  For Example:
  You press B, or V…. a cut is created where the timeline is and it inserts a slug of about 10 seconds and jumps the timeline to the end of the footage.

  Obviously quite annoying.

  Plus we’ve got a work experience kid on it trying to learn his way round Final Cut today, which makes it all the worse.

  Any ideas would be grand.

  It is a fully legitamate copy of FCP, so maybe an update could be in order.

  sounds like someone has modified your keyboard to avid settings:
  B & V being insert and overwrite.

  don’t know why you cant change them, though.
  do you have your “international” system prefs set to American?
  if not, saved keyboard layouts made on another system wont load on yours.

  maybe someone has locked your FCP prefs?

  maybe you should trash your FCP prefs.
