  • Continuous P2 Import Error

Posted by Alex Parker on August 11, 2009 at 1:49 pm

I am unable to import any P2 clips at all through the log and transfer window, and have never been able to. I can view each clip, they play fine and have audio but when processed to import each time an ! symbol appears and the import fails.

I know this issue has been raised before – I have tried the fixes of shortening clip names and unchecking the ‘remove advance pulldown’ option in the sprocket window but to no avail. I have also downloaded the relevant P2 drivers and plugins.

Also with 3 separate hard drives and 3 separate batches of clips I have been able to import them fine on another computer with the same version of FCP but no luck at all on mine.

Thanks for taking the time to read, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have Perian Installed? What about FX Factory?

Those errors…do they say what the error was? You should be able to click on them, or right click, and have it tell you.

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The error message is ‘Error: Unknown’. Helpful eh?

I do have Perian installed – version 1.1.4. Just tried uninstalling it and trying again and it made no difference. I don’t have FX Factory.
