  Effects vanish after rendering

  Hello
  Recently I stumbled upon this issue I can’t seem to be able to resolve: when editing, I have this clip to which I add the “image mask” and “matte magic” effects, but right after I render the clip, the effects simply disappear as if I haven’t made any changes to the clip. In the viewer (under the Filters tab) the effects are still there, but when I playback the clip they are not.

  This isn’t the first time I witness drastic changes caused by the render. I’ve had many other situations in which all the settings/effects I customised on a certian clip simply disappear or change after I render it (e.g. colour, brightness, etc.). This is proving to be really inconvenient to me and it’s compromising my most important projects; could someone please lend me a hand? Mind you that I am no super expert. Thanks in advance.
