    hi there
I wonder if someone could tell me a nice way to reflect some fire generated by trapcode particular on a background wall (still image)
if not, which will be the better way to simulate that?
    thanks
    Juan

Can you duplicate the fire layer (I’m assuming it has alpha), then Corner Pin in against the wall, and decrease Opacity and maybe saturation?

Do you want a clear reflection of the fire or do you want a diffuse glow from the fire? The latter can be accomplished pretty well with a 3D light with a fairly fast but subtle wiggle on the light intensity if you’re working in 3D. wiggle(2, 10) might work well.

Otherwise you’ll probably need to pre-compose your fire layer and bring in 2 copies of it into your final composition, parent the ‘reflection’ layer to the ‘wall’ layer then position it properly. You can add any effects you want for the reflection at this stage. You’ll probably want to add a very subtle blur (Box Blur, radius: 1, iterations: 3 maybe?), set the blending mode to ‘Add’ and lower the opacity some. If you increase the blur a lot this can also be used to simulate glow on the wall from the fire.

I’ll probably go with the second one… maybe parenting the second fire with the point of interest of the camera by expressions… ’cause the camera is travelling to the right…
