Sorry for such a basic question but…

I have a Panasonic HVX200 that was set to 720 24p which I recorded to a Citidisk which records at 720 60p. I am suppose to remove the extra frames, I think. When I do Advance pull down it speeds up the clip rather than making it smoother.

What is the process to bring in a 24p clip into FCP? I also have some 24pn recorded to a P2 card. Can I mix these without a problem in the timeline?

Use the DVCPRO HD Frame Rate Converter in the TOOLS menu…

    Thanks Shane

When I do that I get the message that only 59.94 and 50 fps are supported. My clip is 720 60p. Any ideas?

720p60 DVCPRO HD is 59.94. Did you shoot 720p60 or 720p24? To tell the truth I only used this for making slow motion…I know it can remove pulldown from 59.94 DVCPRO HD to get you to 29.97 or 23.98…but I wonder if the footage needs to be flagged as such for it to work? Flagging is done in camera.

Well, I can do some test shooting with my HVX and see what I can figure out. But this will take time…I don’t have much off time.

    Shane,

Please don’t go to the trouble. I will figure out something. It doesn’t look bad as it is. I just don’t know if it is correct. I will contact the manufacturer.

    Regards,

    David
