I want to do an effect in slow mo with live footage, but with my dv camera, slow mo is kind of rigid a little bit, would adjusting the shutter speed of the camera help by catching more motion or is it irrevelent. I also know about high speed cameras (but i dont have the budget of course)

    Thanks

Higher shutter speed will reduce the amount of motion blur in fast moving objects.

… and it will not give you more images per second, which is what you need.

Reducing the shutter speed (if you can do that) will give you the same number of images per second, but they will be more blurry due to motion blur. So instead of jerky sharp images, you’ll have jerky blurry images. 🙂
