    Hello,
I am trying to do a digital push in or a simulated zoom by setting keyframes at the beginning and end of a clip. The clip also has a widescreen 2:35 filter I’ve placed on it. When I play it all together the push in affects both the picture AND the widescreen… anyone have a solution to this. I want only the picture to be affected.
    thanks, g

    two different approaches to this:

    1. NEST the clip,
and apply the ZOOM to the clip, and the MASK to the nest.

    2. rather than use a FILTER for the WS mask, use an overlay.

Andy Mees makes a WS mask GENERATOR for FC.
check it out along with his many other useful and free plugins here:

ok, one more approach, just for the heck of it:

rather than the motion tab, use the Basic 3D filter to adjust the scale.
make sure the WS mask come AFTER that in the filters tab.

personally i use overlays for WS masks, as i find doing the re-pos to be so much easier and intuitive using the Wireframe in the Canvas.
