  Quickly scroll through fonts?

  Hello,

  This may seem like a simple question, but it there a way to simply scroll through the fonts in FCP to see which looks best with the text I am entering? Having come from using strictly Sony Vegas and Premiere Pro, usually I just select a font then use the down arrow to look at each one. But nothing like that seems to work in FCP… I’m sure there is a simple solution, I just can’t seem to find one.

  I have not been able to preview fonts live before selecting them using the FCP Text Tool. If you are using Boris Title 3D (provided with Final Cut Studio) you can highlight the text in the text window and just to the right of the Font selector there is an ↑ up arrow and a ↓ down arrow that lets you preview the font as you scroll live.

  i use Font Book for this.
  this is an app that comes with OSX.

  under the Preview Menu in Fontbook, chose Custom (Apple 3)
  and you can type in the text you want to preview.

  the up and down arrows will take you thu all the available fonts.

  i’ve got Fontbook in my dock, but it wish i could do this in FCP

  Ok, I guess this is the best solution. Honestly not TOO horrible.
