    Wow, that post is old. Good work on Ricks part, no question.

    These days though, Trapcode particlular or wondertouch particleIllusion are a good place to start. Both have presets for similar effects, although I think you’ll have more luck with particleIllusion for something this simple. Other people would say use particular

    The effect itself is quite simple, but the actor is either filmed on a green screen or at a seperate time on the same BG. Simple fade out along with the particles does the job.
