    I’ve not worked it personally, but I’ve heard good things about the Spyder Hub, and it was designed precisely to do what you wish to do.

    You can ATTACH via FireWire using that, but will you get the speed of SATA? No. Your bottleneck will be the FW port.

    Yeah, I’m aware of that. But for this project, after buying the Matrox and some software upgrades to have any kind of ROI I can’t invest in a CalDigit VR like I would want. I will be working only in DV for this project so I should be fine. I just happen to have 2Tb of available external SATA storage that I would like to use for the project.
