  Tearing in Motion Move

  So I’m doing some moves on some pictures. I send them to Motion from FCP do my moves and everything looks great. When I render back in FCP the first pic (moving vertically) is tearing on the top and right sides of the picture.

  I’ve tried to readjust it in Motion (where is looks fine) and save and rerender to no avail.
  I’ve trashed the render files for the whole projects and re rendered and the same
  Trashed user prefs same
  Any ideas?

  OK just saw that I was working in a OfflineRT project and did some moves in that. Gave up on that and just now cutting Prores HQ. I am exporting the motion moves to match the projects and am hoping that should do it.

  How precisely do you think ProRes HQ will benefit your project over and above regular ProRes?

  I don’t… Been an Avid editor for a while and now gettting my feet wet with FCP Studio. The quicktime I have is a ProRes HQ 1280X720 and all the Pictures are 3072×2304. I just stuck with ProRes HQ set up after trying an OfflineRT recompress but was told in an earlier post that my pictures(moves on them in motion) wouldn’t match up in the online.

  New to all this so any suggestions are appreciated. I think my head is gonna explode though with all the info I’ve learned the past 3 days.

  David,

  Being an IoHD user I stick with ProRes rather than ProResHQ. Do you reckon there are any advantages in the HQ? I’m usually 1080 50i.

  My guess is that some fast action footage may benifit, an analogy to the XDcam 35mbs v 100mbs v 220mbs codecs comparison, but I’ve never seen any visual advantage between the standard Prores and HQ.
