  Fixing frame rate problem! Accidental undercrank!

  Hi,

  I’ve recently shot some footage on an HVX200A and I accidentally shot it in 720/30pn but in the “film cam” mode, in 24fps.

  I believe this is an undercrank, and the footage appears choppy and incredibly sped up (seems to be about 60% faster).

  I need to get the clips back to normal 30p so they can match the rest of my project, which is in 30fps. I’ve been messing around with Cinema Tools, but when I conform the clips to 29.97, they still appear sped up and choppy, even when slowed down, in my 29.97 timeline.

  Any ideas would be much, much appreciated. Thanks!

  The difference between 24 and 30 fps is only about 20%. If you’re experiencing a truly dramatic 60% increase in apparent speed, you have different issues. You may be interpreting each frame as a separate field, that would result in an apparent 12 fps.

  I don’t know anything about your camera but most of the tools I have used will bake in a fake 24fps but it still records at 30.
