    Hello Forum,

I am excited because I finally worked out all of my issues with getting my HDV720p30 16:9 timeline compressed in compressor and edited to a DVCam tape. Letterboxing looks good. Interlacing artifact issues I was having looks good. The only problem now is that I get these random dead pixels popping up around the images. Most noticeable when the image is dark.

Do you think I have a bum DVCam Sony tape? I really don’t want to have to buy another to find this out. I am strapped for cash.

Have you seen this problem before? Is it easily fixed?

I tried to search the forum but didn’t find a posting like this with the keywords I used. I am sorry if this answer is out there already.

    Thank you for your help.

    Sharon

Sounds like your VTR is a bit dusty, maybe run a cleaning tape?

Thank you for your suggestion. Turns out the monitor I was looking at it on is very old and has dead pixel graffiti issues. I found another deck and monitor to watch the tape on and it was totally clean.

I am sorry if I wasted anyone’s time with this post. However, thank you for your consideration and help.
