Is there a way to get a timecode overlay in FCP so that it it remains when playing the sequence? More importantly, I need to compress the video in order to show the rough cut to a client on my website. It would be very helpful if this compressed video could have a timecode window so the client could refer to timecode for changes. I can compress the video any way that would work…Any ideas?

You can use FCP’s Timecode Reader/Generator filters or the BigTime plugin.

BIG TIME from DIGITAL HEAVEN is great for the stand alone timecode window. But for quick and easy timecode window on exports, use COMPRESSOR. In the FILTERS section there is a TIMECODE window reader that is great and fast and easy.

Quicktime Player reads timecode. Just switch your counter to Timecode and it’s displayed right there.

As for FCP, download Bigtime from Digital Heaven.
